The 2018 Creative Nonfiction Writers’ Conference
Practical advice. Meaningful insights. Lasting connections.
If you’re like most writers, you’re looking for dedicated writing time and inspiration and focus and a publisher. You’re in good company.
Make connections that can energize and change your writing life at the 2018 Creative Nonfiction Writers’ Conference (May 24 – 26, Pittsburgh). It’s the only creative nonfiction conference where you can spend three days surrounded by 150+ other memoirists, lyrical essayists, and longform journalists who are all eager to connect with and motivate one another. It’s the only creative nonfiction conference where you can get up close and personal with dozens of publishing professionals and agents. And it’s the only creative nonfiction conference in a vibrant, growing city with a thriving literary community, self-driving cars, and a great food scene.
The 2018 conference will provide a rich blend of inspiration and practical advice—whether you’re writing your first essay, article, or proposal or have a couple of books under your belt. Plus, new this year: Along with agent consultations, we’re offering opportunities for you to get personalized feedback on your manuscript. (NOTE: Space is limited.)
Don’t miss out. Previous conferences have led to book deals, article publications, and new editor/writer relationships.

>> What former conference attendees say <<
“I've attended for the last three years, and it gets better every year. This was top notch. Big names but without the stuffy separation of other well respected conferences. CNF offers, by far, the best bang for your buck when it comes to writing conferences. Thank you!” – ANN MALLEN
“An excellent writing conference … helpful and practical for understanding [and] developing your nonfiction work and learning [about] the burgeoning writing marketplace.” – MARK A. WERKEMA
“Just the kick in the rear I needed.” – EDDA FIELDS-BLACK
“A corrective for the isolation of writing. Loved the focus on being a writer in the world, not just at my desk. Loved the balance of practical publishing advice to writing techniques. … The community building aspect was excellent.” – JUANITA RAMSEY-JEVNE
“Practical, informative, inspirational, and gave me techniques and strategies I can directly apply to my own work.” – DONNA CAMERON
