2016 Conference FAQs
What's your cancellation policy?
Our complete cancellation policy can be found here.
Am I taking one or two Master Classes on Friday?
Everyone who registers for Friday will take one large-group Master Class and one small-group class.
Am I guaranteed to get my first and second choices of Master Classes on Friday?
We'll do our best to give everyone their top choices of Master Classes. If there is exceptionally high demand for one class, participants will be chosen via lottery.
Do I need to submit work for Friday classes?
No. The Friday classes will be run like lectures/roundtable discussions rather than workshops. You are welcome to bring a list of questions specific to your own project to class.
How do I schedule a one-on-one session with an agent or publishing consultant?
You can purchase either a 30-minute consultation or a 15-minute consultation with the agent/consultant of you choosing.
What should I bring to my consultation?
You can bring anything you like, or nothing at all. You may want to bring a query letter, book proposal, chapter outline, elevator pitch, or list of questions, or you may just want to chat–it is your time, and you may spend it in whatever way will be the most beneficial to you.
I need to arrive to the conference late or leave the conference early. Is that ok?
It's no problem!
I've registered for the conference but would like to connect with other attendees prior, during, and even after the event. Is that possible?
We have created a Facebook group where attendees can all meet to discuss travel and housing logistics, coordinate extra-curriculars for your weekend in Pittsburgh, discuss conference happenings, and discuss anything else related to the conference or traveling to Pittsburgh.
In addition, we have created a hashtag (#cnfwc16) that you can use for discussion on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and which you can also use during the conference weekend to share updates about your conference experience.
