52 Snapshots: A Memoir Starter Kit for the New Year

Wednesday, January 5, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm Eastern

Develop a manageable weekly plan for drafting a creative nonfiction book in the New Year.

Additional Information

Writing your life can feel like a massive endeavor. Whether you’re working on a memoir, family stories or a series of essays, it’s often hard to know where to begin, let alone how to keep going. This webinar will offer insight and practical advice that will help you make an actionable plan for 2022.

This presentation will break down the often overwhelming task of getting started on (or continuing) a book length writing project. Writing one memory or scene at a time allows writers to delve into the work in meaningful and manageable ways. It will also help you reach your writing goals by breaking your large nonfiction project into a manageable series of short, vivid pieces.

In this webinar, you will:

  • HARNESS the blank slate of the New Year as the perfect time to begin (or re-dedicate yourself to) your nonfiction project
  • DEVELOP a concrete plan that will keep you writing and making progress all year
  • LEARN how memoirs and essays can be broken down into meaningful and manageable “bite-size” pieces of prose
  • JUMP-START your writing project with inspiration from writing prompts and sample snapshots

There will be time for a Q & A at the end of the presentation.

This webinar is for any writer who wants to commit to their nonfiction writing project in the New Year.

Testimonials

I enjoyed reading other peoples work and getting feedback about my own work– the handouts/video links and class lessons were also very informative and relevantly paced to the give structural guidelines.
