Sarah Smarsh

Sarah Smarsh has reported on class disparity for Harper's, Guernica, and the Guardian, and her essays on cultural boundaries have appeared in or are forthcoming from the Believer, Aeon, McSweeney's, and the Morning News. Her 2018 memoir Heartland: A Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke in the Richest Country on Earth was a National Book Award Finalist.
