Paul Austin

Paul Austin has worked in emergency care for thirty years, first as a firefighter and now as a physician. His book about the way his job almost destroyed his family will be published by W.W. Norton in the spring of 2008. His essays have been published or are forthcoming in Gettysburg Review, Southeast Review, Ascent, and Turnrow. Paul lives with his wife, Sally, and their children, Sarah, John, and Sam, in Durham, North Carolina.
