Margrét Ann Thors

Margrét Ann Thors is a writer living in Reykjavík, Iceland. Originally from Fairfield County, Connecticut, she holds a BA, MA, and MFA from Columbia University and currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the English department at the University of Iceland. Her essay “That Hole in My Heart” won Glamour magazine’s eleventh annual essay contest, and she has had essays and short stories published in several other outlets. She has been an artist in residence at Catwalk Art Residency and Gullkistan artist residency, and was named the 2018 Lit Fest  Nonfiction Fellow for Emerging Writers by the Lighthouse Writers Workshop. In 2020, she began a funded doctoral research project on trauma, memory, gender, and religion in post-9/11 fiction. She’s also an aspiring novelist.
