Connie Kuhns

Connie Kuhns has a forty-year history as an essayist, journalist, photographer, and broadcaster. Her essays have been finalists for Canada’s National Magazine Awards, Western Magazine Awards, and Prism International’s CNF contest. Other essays have been finalists in the LA Review Literary Awards, the New York Times “Your 13-Word Love Stories” by the New York Times’s Modern Love column, received honorable mention for the Frank McCourt Memoir Prize, and been named a notable essay in the Best American Essays series. Her photographs have been shown in various formats, published in the Washington Post and the Globe and Mail, and selected as a 2021 finalist for Canada’s Salt Spring National Art Prize. For fifteen years, Kuhns was the producer and host of the radio show Rubymusic on CFRO, Vancouver, specializing in the history of women in music. Her interviews and commentaries have been published in Geist and other magazines and newspapers.
