C.M. Mayo divides her time between Mexico City and Washington, D.C. Her books include Las Nuevas Finanzas en Mexico, Las Finanzas Populares en Mexico, Miraculous Air: Journey of a Thousand Miles Through Baja, California, the Other Mexico and Sky Over El Nido, which won the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction and was translated by Agustin Cadena as El Cielo de El Nido. Mayo's essays on Mexico have been published in Fourth Genre, Massachusetts Review, North American Review and Southwest Review. She is also a widely published poet, translator of Mexican poetry and founding editor of Tameme, a bilingual literary journal.
