On Purpose: Reclaiming Your Writing Time

Wednesday, July 21, 2021 @ 2:00 pm -3:00 pm Eastern

What do you want from the writing life? And what’s stopping you?

Additional Information

If you want to be a writer, one of the first questions you’ll need to answer for yourself is why. Without a clear sense of purpose, even the most experienced writers may find themselves at a creative standstill. It’s very easy to want to write; it’s also very easy not to write. After all, there’s always something else you could be doing.

This webinar will help you distinguish the personal and professional obligations you really have to meet from the excuses you fall back on to avoid writing. Once you articulate what’s at stake and why you want to write, you can look more closely at how you spend your time and consciously reprioritize your decisions. To do that, you not only need to convince yourself of the value of your story, you need to convince yourself that you have room in your life for writing—and that writing is one of the most meaningful things you could be doing with that time.

In this webinar, you will:

  • TAKE the first steps towards identifying the focus of your writing
  • LEARN to recognize the barriers between you and your writing
  • ESTABLISH a framework to start you writing—and keep you writing

There will be time for a Q&A at the end of the presentation.

This webinar is ideal for writers of all levels who want to discover or rediscover their purpose and passion for telling stories.

Testimonials

I enjoyed reading other peoples work and getting feedback about my own work– the handouts/video links and class lessons were also very informative and relevantly paced to the give structural guidelines.
