Perri Klass
Perri Klass is the author of books, essays, award-winning short stories, a novel, and numerous articles ranging from professional papers to popular journalism and travel pieces. Her 1987 book, A Not Entirely Benign Procedure, chronicled her medical school years; her 2007 book, Treatment Kind and Fair: Letters to a Young Doctor, looked at changes in medicine and medical education. Her most recent book is The Mercy Rule, a novel. She is a professor of journalism and pediatrics at New York University, and she writers the “18 and Under” column for the New York Times.
