Lester Goran
Lester Goran currently teaches in the English Department of the University of Miami, where he started the Creative Writing Program and, later, the MFA in Creative Writing. He attended Pittsburgh public schools and the University of Pittsburgh. He has published (1994) a memoir, The Bright Streets of Surfside: A Memoir of a Friendship with Isaac Bashevis Singer. His latest novel, Bing Crosby’s Last Song, was published in 1998, and his third collection of short stories, Outlaws of the Purple Cow and Other Stories, was published in the fall of 1999.
