Brain, Child & Brain, Teen are now under the CNF umbrella!

We are very pleased to announce that Creative Nonfiction has taken ownership of the acclaimed literary magazines Brain, Child and Brain, Teen (, and that the magazines’ editor, Marcelle Soviero, has joined Creative Nonfiction’s Editorial Advisory Board.

The largest and oldest magazine of its kind, Brain, Child has published essays about parenting for almost two decades. Brain, Child and its sister publication Brain, Teen, have earned more than 30 literary awards, and have provided a renowned home for true stories about parenting issues not explored in mainstream publications. Contributors over the years have included Cheryl Strayed, Ann Hood, and Barbara Ehrenreich.

The Brain, Child website has moved to CNF’s server, and we’ll be making the magazines’ archives available through our website in the near future. More exciting news about what this acquisition means for writers, subscribers, and fans of both Brain, Child and Creative Nonfiction will be forthcoming this spring.
