Science as Story
A Series of Free Events Showcasing Nonfiction Narratives. Coming spring 2020
Science as Story is a new weekly series of lectures and conversations intended to bridge the communication gap between researchers, storytellers & the general public.
Our inaugural series features five female science writers talking about their books and how they used true stories to communicate science to a general readership
This series of events includes: 5 large public talks, 5 intimate conversations (broadcast live), and 1 six-week workshop for up to 12 scientists who wish to explore the techniques and uses of narrative in their own work.
These events will take place between March - May 2020 at venues around Pittsburgh, PA. Funding for the Science as Story project is provided by the Fisher Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation.
