Mary Ann Hutcheson

Mary Ann Hutcheson retired from teaching in 2012. She now freelances for magazines and is working on a memoir chronicling her family’s history, beginning with the late nineteenth-century immigration of her Italian ancestors. Before she chose her career as a teacher, Mary Ann’s passion was the theater, and during her college years, she trained at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City. One of her writing rewards was her friendship with Pat Conroy, which was cut short by his death.
